Tip of the Day -- 1/12/07

Always practice with an intermediate target.

A great way to help you align properly is by using an intermediate target in practice and on the course. In practice, stand behind your ball and visualize a straight line from the target to your ball. Place a tee in the ground about two feet in front of the ball along that line. Address the ball so that you are aligned with that tee and your club face is pointing directly over it. Hit balls that fly over the tee and let your club reach for the tee. On the course, find a leaf, divot, or mark that will serve the same purpose as the tee did in practice.
